my bookshelf

To me, there is nothing better than being compltely consumed by a good book. You know, when you just can't get yourself to put it down, and pages just fly by. And you get to the end and you're so sad to finish it, then you're jealous of anyone else who is currently reading it, and experiencing the same thing you once did.

Therefore, a book recommendation is so important.

Sure, this website helps, but a good recommendation from a friend is always better.

I believe that books should be passed around, from friend to friend, much like recipes. Books should get wrinkled and used, and even ripped sometimes.

I also enjoy a personal note in the front cover of a good book.

Anyway, I thought I'd provide you with a list of books I have read (that I can remember), and my rating (1-5, 5=best)
  • Memiors of a Geisha by Arthur Golden 5
  • I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb 4
  • She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb 4
  • A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini 5 (May be my favorite book yet)
  • The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini 5
  • My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult 4
  • Nineteen Minutes Jodi Picoult 4
  • The Pact by Jodi Picoult 5
  • The Samurai's Garden by Gail Tsukiyama 2
  • Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea by Chelsea Handler 3
  • My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler 4.5
  • A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer 3
  • Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (2)
So, now you know which books I recommend.

Do you have any suggestions for me?

Thanks for sharing :-)
